Pick, pick, pick,
They picked her to the bone
On her way and on her way home
Their taunts follow her even now
As she takes her last journey alone.
Nip, nip, nip,
They nipped her till she bleed
Till I’ve had enough she said
She can feel them pinching now
As under the water goes her head.
Poke, poke, poke,
They poked fun of her clothes
Till finally the tears in her eyes arose
Her eyes are weeping now
As under the water she goes.
Kick, kick, kick,
They kicked her till she screamed
Till they broke all she had dreamed
Even the policeman kicked her
As she lay where his torchlight beamed
The Watcher
In a deep dark wood
Where a river runs free
There’s a hole in the ground
And a cross on the tree
There’s a message in the sand
That reads don’t come in
And there’s a watcher in the wood
Ready to push you in
So in a deep dark wood
Where a river runs free
You see a hole in the ground
And a cross on a tree
Leave the message in the sand
That reads don’t come in
And watch out for the watcher
Who’s ready to push you in
Down The Pub
Standing at the bar
Smoking ash tray and cigar
Double whisky glass in hand
Isn’t his life grand
Laughing out loud
Drinking pints with the crowd
Smutty jokes, football results
Going home filled to the gills
Talking in a huddle
Pints on table in a muddle
Who’s round next, let us guess
Not mine I got the last
Working behind the bar
Drinking up time not far
One last round, one last pint
Wishing all a good night
Going home at last
Time to clear up the glass
Put out lights, lock the door
Back tomorrow for some more
My Space ship
I built myself a spaceship
Out of paper and glue.
I filled the tank
with orange juice
And flew to the moon.
I stopped there for my dinner
Then continued on to Mars.
Twice around Saturn's rings
Refuelling at the stars.
Passing through the Milky Way
Now I’m going home.
Crash landing in the garden
I broke dads gnome.
Pink Candles
Snuggled beneath my blankets
I stare at your photo by candle light
Not thinking of anything
Just looking at your face
As the candles burn down
The flames lesson and the light fades
As the light dies away so does your face
And dark shadows dance on my memories
Slowly the candle burns out
And your image disappears
But even now in the dark room
I can still see your eyes
Smiling at me
Angel Fields
I came across a field
But no crops did I find there
No seedling wheat
No harvest to reap
When autumn draws near
Neither is she an orchard
She has no fruit to bear
No rosy apples, no juicy pear
And although ringed with trees
The crow is the only bird
That I did stir
I came across a field
Where Christ stands
where angles cry
Their heads in hands
And where each year
God reaps the land
A Family Curse
A curse upon a family was but scorn
Upon the mother and first child born
To die in battle was the child’s destiny
To die of heart break the mothers death to be
A gladiators death Con did die
But now he is free, so don’t know one cry
A desert crusader Sam did go
With sword and armour, he wasn’t to know
Mark and his mother together did die
But it wasn’t in battle that he passed by
So now we sit and wonder a curse but scorn
For Cosmo is the younger of Mark first born
Tears for You
When I think of you
The tears from my heart
Run down my face.
When I dream of you
The tears in my mind
Are on my pillowcase.
When I look at you
The tears in my eyes
Down my cheeks race
When I don’t see you
These tears I cry
They go to waste
When I can’t hold you
These tears in my soul
Are bitter to taste
Wishing For a Rainbow
There’s a crack in the tea cup that I am holding,
And the rain splash’s on the window out side.
The man across the street watching my every move is crying,
I can’t hear him but I know,
He’s wishing for a rainbow.
There’s a crack in the pavement I am walking on,
And the rain wash’s away the tears from my face.
I dare not look back to see if the man following is gone,
I can’t see him but I know,
He’s wishing for a rainbow.
There’s a crack in the ceiling of the room I am in,
And the rain is still running beyond the curtain.
The man on top of me that I love with all my soul is crying,
I hold him close and I know,
He’s wishing for a rainbow.

It's Cold Tonight
It’s cold tonight
And your not with me
Beside me in my bed…..
OUR BED!
My children’s voices don’t …..
OUR! children’s voices
Don’t ring out goodnight mummy
And it’s cold tonight
There’s an extra star in the sky
And in my heart an extra sigh.
There’s room in my bed…
OUR BED!
Where your shadow lies
And my soul cries.
Its very cold tonight
And you are gone
Left me, left us alone.
My children cry out……
OUR! children cry out
In there dreams,
come back mummy
Please come home
It’s cold tonight.
I Will Always Love You
24 years have passed so sweet,
But would my heart flutter a beat
If by chance we once again did meet.
Have the years put a sunder,
The emotions my heart did plunder
If by chance again we did, I often wonder.
Was it just a crush I had on you,
Or did you feel the same way too
If my chance again what would I do,
what could I do.
I will always love you.
Millennium
M
For the millions who have died each year,
in the name of peace and the name of war.
I
For the incredible feats of daring do or die
that helped man reach beyond the sky.
L
For the loved ones we cherished each day
and kept safe each night we prayed.
L
For the learning to live together hand in hand,
in hope that one day we will come to understand.
E
For the Earth that has given us our life,
where we have lived through the good and strife.
N
For the name of every country, city, street and place,
least they should vanish without a trace.
I
For the ingenious things that we have created.
Technology, art, literature all computer stored and dated.
U
For the unbelievable things that we have done and seen,
only each year to have the wiped the slate clean.
M
For the millennium years that are to come.
And god bless each and everyone.
Adieux
Adieux, goodbye
Oh why did mummy have to die?
Since daddy left us she’s had a hard time
But she never cheated or stole a dime
Mummy never did anything wrong
She’s been good all her life long
Oh please lord tell me why
Adieux, goodbye
Please tell me why mummy had to die
Maybe she scolded the cat once or twice
But she only spanked me
when I wasn’t nice
My teddy and me will miss her so
Can we call her on the telephone?
Oh why lord god why?
MUM
You never heard me crying
And I never saw you laugh
But I’ll always remember you smiling
I know that sounds daft
But I won’t remember you crying
So I will remember your laugh
I’ll never forget your last goodbye
So lets leave it at that

Angelic Host Protecting
A beam of light harsh and cold dashed across the street below
With no regard for property up the house wall it climbed
It sat on the window ledge waiting for the owner to open the curtains
So it could seep through the glass and play shadows in the room beyond
In the dimly lit room pictures and furniture
Were out lined along with other flotsam and jetsam
Slanting off a far wall the light created a pattern betwixt lace and cloth
Hung where this ray of streetlight thumped the wall was a photograph
It was a large black and white photo of a man
A man with dark questioning eyes that stared at you intensely
A smile that melted hearts everywhere
And a clean-shaven jaw, proclaiming a scar of character.
The shaft of light soft and warm playing in the room
Created a glow around the picture like an angelic host
So while the sleeper rested a man-made heavenly light
Protected the purposely-placed picture of her heart.
SHALAKO
The autumn came early that year
And the winter soon after
The hot dusty summer died overnight
Quickly and quietly in its sleep
Like an old man
Weary from the journey of life
It laid down its head
On the pillow of death
And drifted
The winter was cruel that year
Bitter as the unsweetened lemon
The cold knocking hard at each door
While beneath a blanket of snow and ice
The earth lay dormant
The relentless wind that blew
Knifed your body
And froze your blood
Like a Shalako win
My Snowman
Today I saw my snowman move
He wriggled his nose
And blinked his eyes
I saw him walk
And I heard him talk
I didn’t imagine it
And it wasn’t a magic trick
I saw my snowman move
Cemetery Road
Side by side the graveyards stand
One is old one is grand.
The one that’s old the age you can tell
By the trees that stand and the trees that fell.
The one that’s new the age you can tell
By the dates on the stones and the grass cut well.
Side by side the graveyards stand
One is old one is grand.
In the one that’s old the gravestones are many
The headstones tall and the headstones heavy.
In the one that’s new the graves are not so many
The headstone short and not so heavy.
Side by side the graveyards stand
One is old one is grand
In the one that’s old the dates are worn
Form the eighteen hundreds till the nineteen born
In the one that’s new the dates engraved
Read nineteen hundred to the present day.
Side by side the graveyards stand
One is old and one is grand.
Silent City
Silence
Not a sound
Not a single murmur
Death
Dark and cold
Yet comforting
Empty
So vast
Forgotten and deserted
Gone
All gone now
Wont be back
Time
Many years past
Many years to come
Names
Names of people
Names of streets
Silence
Not a whisper
Not even an echo
Yet!
Once they called it
Washington DC
Maiden Dark
His love was strong for a maiden dark
But the battle field of hate stole his heart
So off to war he rode, never to return
Leaving his loved one for ever to yearn
On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day
A message came and in it did say
His love for the battle in his heart
Was greater than the love for his maiden dark
So in the end he left with his greatest love
And ascended to the almighty heaven above.
Teddy Blue
I have this little teddy bear
That’s a dirty shade of blue
And I’ve and named him Michael
After my favourite person you
Each night he comes to bed with me
Until the alarm bell sounds
Then I sling him across the room
And he lands with a thud on the ground
Searching for the light switch
His tiny body I usually find
But I give him lots of love and kiss’s
And some how he doesn’t mind
I don’t mean to be cruel to my teddy bear
That’s a funny shade of blue
But he can’t expect miracles
Because I did name him after you
